Aurie Helton Elliott

Aurie Helton Elliott, age 74, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022. Aurie was born September 14, 1948, in Charlotte. During her younger years Aurie met the love of her life Ronnie the two got married and remained together for over 50 years. From this marriage they had three children, one boy and twin girls. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, and friend. In her younger years she was an amazing southern cook and loved canning from whatever came from the garden. She was a woman of deep faith and loved her church family.

Life changed for Aurie with a diagnosis of Dementia shortly after retirement and posed obstacles along the way, but it never changed her cheerful laugh and sense of humor. Her last three years she resided at St. Andrews Assisted Living Facility and was loved by the staff that treated her as family. Although her memory faded her fiery redhead spirit was always there.

Aurie left to cherish her loving memory her three children, son, Scott Elliott (Cathie), Rhonda Elliott Little (Tom), and Renee Elliott Haltom (Tony); four grandchildren, Hunter Elliott, Ashlyn Elliott, Anniston Auber, and Roman Edwards

The family will receive friends on Tuesday October 18, 2022 from 12 -2 PM at McEwen Derita Funeral Chapel, 6300 Mallard Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28262. Immediately following the viewing a graveside service will be held at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
