Annis Lambert

Annis Lewter Lambert, age 96, passed away peacefully May 28, 2017. She was born in the Green Level Community of western Wake County to Harvey F. Lewter and Middie Yates Lewter on Sept. 7, 1920 being the only daughter with four brothers. She graduated from the original Green Hope High School and attended Meredith College.

She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, John James Lambert, daughters Joyce Ann Lambert and Donna Gay Lambert. She is survived by daughters Sherry Lambert Hunter and Middi Yates Lambert of Belmont, NC, grandson John Phifer Hunter of Charlotte, NC and granddaughter Cherie Hunter Mauldin of Stanley, NC. All nieces, nephews and extended family reside in Wake County.

She was a member of Hayes Barton Baptist Church for many years. When health issues no longer enabled her to attend services, she faithfully watched Dr. Haley on television.

Annis was an active member in the Masonic Organizations, The Order of the Eastern Star, The Order of the Amaranth and The Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem holding various positions in all. She was very talented at decorating the lodges for meetings and events and serving delicious refreshments.

A graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
