Anne Phelan Collins departed this world Thursday, August 9, 2012. She died from complications of pneumonia. Anne was born September 19, 1953 in Charlotte, North Carolina where she spent her entire life. She graduated from Myers Park High School in 1972.
Anne was the only daughter of Mal and Patricia Collins, and one of four children. She was a gentle soul who made the best of many difficult situations. She was loved by her family and will be mourned deeply. She is predeceased by her father, Clarence Malcolm Collins, Jr. She is survived by her mother, Patricia Ritch Collins of Charlotte, and her brothers, Clarence “Chuck” Malcolm Collins, III (Pat) of Jacksonville, NC, Stephen Lee Collins (Trish) of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, and Christopher David Collins of Charlotte. She had five nieces and one nephew.
The family would like to thank Anne’s caregiver, Amy Clark, for her love, compassion, and empathy; and also the CMC-University staff for their professional care and compassion.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Harry & Bryant Company, Charlotte. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mental Health Association of Central Carolinas.
