Ann Jones, 78, of Indian Land, SC, died on June 16, 2011 at a Monroe, NC health care facility. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to those who knew and loved her.
Ann was born in Summit, MS on June 8, 1933 to Hilton and Kathleen Booker Webb. She graduated from Yokohama American High School in Yokohama, Japan. She was a Red Cross Volunteer and a medical secretary and taught Sunday School for the church she attended. Ann loved history and was a dedicated tour guide in Coastal Georgia and South Carolina. Ann was also a US Army Brat -Army wife, a wonderful cook and family genealogist.
Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years Edward Jones US ARMY (RET) of Indian Land, SC; 2 children, Kay Jones Lewis of Indian Land, SC , son Jay Jones and his wife Kelly of Caledonia, NY; 6 grandchildren, Brannon (Susan) Sharp, Christopher (Lindsay) Jones, Lindsay (Jay) Shinkunas, Anne Lewis, Grace (Jay) Mollohan and Jayme Jones; 3 great grandchildren, Zach, Zoe and Wylie Sharp.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 11:00 am at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3715 Rea Rd., Charlotte, NC 28226 with Rev. Jae Lee officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
