Andrew, also known to many as Melvin, was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. He wasn’t the scholar of the family, as he left the books to his sister. However, where he truly excelled was on the court and on the field. Playing both basketball and football throughout school as well as multiple church leagues.
Andrew went on to retail sales, working his way up into management at Circuit City. Dedicating over 15 years of service. He found long-lasting friendships as well as the love of his life, Suzanne. With marriage and management under his belt, life was rolling along. Unfortunately, life knocked him hard when he found out he was in Stage 4 liver failure in 2008. He received a new liver in 2010 and was getting back up on his feet. He was working out, almost every day at Gunn’s Fitness, where he found even more long-lasting friendships. Then in 2013, he was hit with kidney failure. After a long fight, his body grew tired and it was time for him to rest. He was a devoted husband, a loving son and brother, and a best friend to many. He will be extremely missed by all.
Andrew was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Max Dozier III and his wife Suzanne Dozier.
He is survived by his mother Mildred H. Dozier and sister Heather (Adrian) Drayton.
