Amy Nichols Kisner

Amy graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Chemical Engineering. She had a successful career as a Chemical Engineer with Dow Chemical and General Electric, and was an owner with her husband Ron of Continental Plastics in Sarasota, FL. She was currently employed as an engineer with Siemens Energy in Charlotte, NC. Amy was highly regarded for her significant contributions and teamwork and was recently recognized as part of a team that won the Werner von Siemens Award for Ingenuity, the top recognition award within global Siemens AG.

Amy was devoted to her partner, children, parents, sisters and extended family. She was known for her quick beautiful smile, contagious positive energy, eternal optimism and big grateful heart. She made friends easily in all environments and was a good friend to all who knew her. Amy became an avid golfer late in life and treasured her many friends at Ballantyne Country Club in Charlotte. She loved her family, people, dogs, work, the outdoors, golf, travel, hiking and camping. She will be sorely missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her daughters Michelle Kisner Culbertson and husband Greg of Richwood, TX, and Niki Kisner Rouse and husband Jason of Pearland, TX; sisters Nancy Nichols and husband Tom of Eugene, OR, Betsy Nichols of Cedar Crest, NM and Judy Nichols and husband Nigel of Wilmington, NC; seven grandchildren: Crystal, Andrea, Nathan, Chase, Dylan, Brennan and Tyler; four great-grandchildren, Jennica, Caden, Nicolas and Lianna; nephews Joey Kisner, Erik Kisner and Noah Lull; nieces Clover Wier and Alysoun Gough; and her partner Phil. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronnie Kisner, her parents Hugh Nichols II and Doreen (Penny) Nichols and many aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life from 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Ballantyne Country Club in Charlotte, NC. Memories will be shared at 12:30pm.
