Allison Bascom Wood, 92, of Charlotte, passed away on May 13, 2012 after 86 years of good health and a very few years of decline. He was born on October 11, 1919 in Paulding County, GA to Archie Bascom and Ina Lee McBrayer Wood. A product of the Depression and World Wars, he grew up in Smyrna, GA. During his career, Allison worked for the railroad, in sales for Georgia Marble Co., and owned A.B. Wood Chemical Co., which provided minerals to industry. He enjoyed playing golf, reading, and the Lake Norman house which he built along with his sons as they were growing up.
