She was born in AuSable Forks, New York on August 13, 1924, to Felix and Dora (LaDuke) Norman. She was a 1942 graduate of Tupper Lake High School after which she moved to Binghamton, New York
to work in the war effort. In 1952, she married Howard B. Granger of Greene, New York where she lived until moving to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2011. She was employed by the Raymond Corporation in Greene, New York from 1964 to 1989. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greene, New York.
Alice was active with organizations including the American Red Cross, Business and Professional Women, United Methodist Women and she volunteered with many community activities through the years. She enjoyed traveling, golfing, bowling, and playing cards with friends.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband Howard, her stepson Francis Granger and her siblings, Francis Norman, Bertrand Norman, Kathryn Nicklaw, Marion Benware and Teresa Bishop. She is survived by her stepson Martin (Jerrye) Granger of Fort Mill, South Carolina, step-grandson Timothy (Chari) Granger of Charlotte, North Carolina, stepgranddaughter Carrie (Christian) Burr of Asheville, North Carolina, step daughter-in-law Hilda Cook of Waterloo, New York, step-grandson Mark Cook of Waterloo, New York and step-granddaughter Michelle Ralston of Waterloo, New York, niece Susan (David) Cornell of Statesville, North Carolina as well as several other nieces.
A graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo, New York later in the spring.
