Alice Jean Evans

Born March 3, 1940 in Worcester, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Henry L. Lagasse and Bessie R. (Shreiar) Cunningham.

She grew up in New York City, and lived in South Florida for over 60 years, before moving to North Carolina. She was equally at home in either the beaches or mountains.

Alice had a long career in the financial sector in New York and Miami Beach. Later in her working life, she worked in healthcare as an office manager. Alice loved listening to records, watching movie musicals, reading, travelling and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Renee I. Collado (Cape Coral, FL) and Rhonda V. Evans (Charlotte, NC); six grandchildren: Adam Aronovski, Desiree Collado, Anthony Collado, Lauren Aronovski, Brandon Collado, and Matthew Collado; and five great-grandchildren.

Her sister, Lydia L. Calarino, (Eastern PA), passed away on December 21, 2023.

Family viewing will begin at 5:00 pm, with a public funeral service at 6:00 pm (reception following), on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in the chapel of McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC.
