

He was an Army veteran and also employed by Southern Elevator Company for 34 years, before retiring in 1997. Since then, one of his greatest pleasures was helping to care for his four grandchildren.
Harold was a strong, quiet man with a secure faith in God. He loved his family and they were always his first priority. He enjoyed working around the house, always able to fix what was broken or create a way to improve his surroundings, making life more comfortable for those around him. He appreciated nature and even took special care of the birds.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Garland “Jack” and Gladys Raynor, brothers, Eddie “Garland” and Bernard “Dale” Raynor, all from Newton Grove, NC.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Glenna Langston Raynor, sons Brian (Amy) Raynor, Daren Raynor and daughter Karen (Matthew) Green of Mint Hill. His grandchildren, Jenna Blackwell, Savannah Green, Brianna and Cole Raynor, knew him as “Paw-Paw”. He is also survived by his brother David “Carroll” (Erma) Raynor of Newton Grove, NC and sisters Hilda Maynard of Dunn, NC and Joyce (Norwood) Harrell of Four Oaks, NC.
Memorials may be made in Harold’s honor to: Idlewild Volunteer Fire Department or March of Dimes.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 28th at 1:00pm with the service immediately following at 2:00pm at McEwen Funeral Services, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Road with the Rev. Dr. Angela Rogers Marlowe officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill.
