Born June 4, 1941 in Malden, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Mae and Harry Levenson. Alan grew up in Rutland, Vermont and graduated from the University of Vermont. He began his career in New York City, where he met his loving wife of 47 years, Margie. Alan and Margie were married in 1969 and moved to Charlotte nine months later, where Alan worked in the textile industry for nearly 30 years. In his retirement Alan enjoyed managing his own business from home.
Alan’s family was the joy of his life. He adored his wife Margie and was a devoted father and loving grandfather. An avid golfer, Al spent many happy days with friends at Raintree Country Club telling stories and working to improve his score. He also enjoyed getting together with his friends for monthly card games and annual golfing trips.
He is survived by his wife, Margie; two children, Matthew Levenson and wife Jamey of Charlotte, and Jennifer Roberts and husband Ken of Raleigh; and three beloved grandchildren, Jessica Roberts, Samantha Roberts, and Millie Levenson; as well as his brother, Stephen Levenson and wife Joan of Bonita Springs, Florida; and sister in-law Joyce Ellenson of Palm Desert, California.
