Alan Wayne Jones

Alan, 47, of Lincolnton, formerly of Charlotte, died Monday, July 5, 2010 at his home.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held 3:00 PM Thursday at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, with the Rev. Dr. Charles C. Williamson and the Rev. Lee Koontz officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Born December 25, 1962 in Richmond, VA, Alan was a son of Grace Jones of Matthews and the late Johnny William Jones. He was a 1980 graduate of East Mecklenburg High School. He was employed with Harris-Teeter as produce manager for 19 years and with Bi-Lo for 8 years. Alan loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, landscaping, gardening and flowers. He also enjoyed dancing with his three year old grandson, Noah.

In addition to his mother, Alan is survived by his wife, Liz Jones; his daughter, Sarah Jones; his daughters by marriage, Jennifer Davis, Priscilla Alexander and Laura Reynolds; and his grandson, Noah Keever, all of Lincoln County; and two brothers, David Jones of Mint Hill and Donald Jones of Charlotte.
