Dr. Adolphus J. Cook (98) passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 plus years Lilias H. Cook and son John Alexander Cook. His parents were Adolphus A. Cook and Fannie Fleming. He is survived by his sister Margie Sells (106); his daughter Debbie Cothran (Wayne); daughter-in-law Martha Cook; granddaughters Allison Robinson and Stephanie Cook; grandsons Brandon Berg (LaVonda) and Jimmy Cook; step grandsons Philip Cothran and David Cothran (Kristi); great grandchildren Austin Robinson, Triniti Lockhart, Luke Robinson, Kendall Robinson, Brandon Berg, Jr and step grandchildren Connor Cothran and Cade Cothran.
Dr. Cook loved music, flowers, crossword puzzles, camping at the beach, family and friends. He was a dentist until he retired at 80 years old. He graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry with honors. He was a very caring, loving, generous man. He will be missed greatly.
