Scott Alan Cristy, 48, of Chapin, SC passed away at Prisma Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina after battling a terrible disease for over a year. He was born on September 20, 1976 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Scott was the son of William Edward Cristy and Olga Joanne (Gresco) Cristy.
Scott never met a stranger. He played soccer and then discovered football. His football career spanned over 13 years and included junior high, high school and two colleges as a quarterback. He coached the Irmo-Chapin Rec League football program for 18 seasons. Scott worked most of his life at Capital Kitchen & Bath, LLC, most recently as the General Manager. It was his idea to start the family business in 2004. He loved dogs and had many over his lifetime. He loved movies, music and SPORTS. He will be sorely missed by many.
He was predeceased by his father, William Edward Cristy. He is survived by his mother, Olga Cristy, Irmo; sister, Jennifer Ares, Chapin; two nieces, Courtney Ares, Irmo, and Madison Ares, Chapin; his nephew, Kyle Ares, Chapin; and many cousins, aunts and uncles spread across the US.
A celebration of life for Scott will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Chapin Chapel, 123 Columbia Ave, Chapin, SC 29036. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 1:30PM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 195 Amicks Ferry Road, Chapin, SC 29036, with a small reception to follow. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.
