She was born in Richland County to the late E. T. “Tommy” Rauch, Jr. and Lucille Riddle Rauch. Patty graduated from Irmo High School in 1955 and served as class president; she then graduated from Winthrop College in 1959 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education.
Her Christian faith inspired her life in service to others. Patty was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Irmo, SC where she served faithfully as a Sunday school teacher and served on the women’s group and other committees. During her lifetime she was involved in many of the local community activities, including Chapin’s TOPS, working part-time at Chapin High School, volunteering at the Lowman Home, and sewing for the Angel Gown Program.
She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert S. “Bobby” Eleazer along with her children, Lynn Eleazer Martin (Tim) and Charles R. Eleazer (Fran). She was a loving grandmother to Jade Eleazer Rapp (Michael), Jordan Martin, Peyton Eleazer and Taylor Martin. She was predeceased by her brother, Karl D. Rauch.
She was loved by her family and friends for her gentle and caring nature.
The family would like to thank all the people who kept her in their thoughts and prayers and who provided loving care during her illness, especially Carmen, Marie, Debera and Amedisys Hospice Care.
Funeral services are being handled by Caughman-Harman Funeral Home in Chapin, SC. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Irmo, with a visitation following the service.
