Letha Sites, 94, of Irmo, South Carolina, wife of the late James Herbert Sites, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. She was born in Richland County on January 27, 1930 to the late Jim and Fannie Wessinger.
Letha attended Columbia Commercial College. She worked at C&S Bank in Columbia, SC. She also worked for G.E./Mepco in Irmo, SC.
She was a member of St. Jacob’s Church where she was an organist for children’s church. She was also organist for O.E.S. in Ballentine. Letha loved gardening and flowers. She enjoyed canning vegetables from the garden and baking. Many friends and family were gifted the plastic canvas ornaments she made. But what she liked best was being with family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Marlene Gray and Virginia Laughlin (Jamey); grandchildren: Herbert Gray (Sherry), Kaycee Sites, Travis Sites (Katie), Justin Laughlin (Emily), Eric Laughlin (Rebecca), and Philip Laughlin (Katherine); great-grandchildren: James Gray, Jonathan Gray (Aria), Judah Gray, Josephine Gray, Henry Christopher Sites, Poppy Laughlin, Koah Laughlin, Willow Laughlin, and Isaac Laughlin; sisters, Pam Meetze, Lula Fulmer, and Johnnie Bemis; as well as extended family members including: Barbara and Wendel Loftis, Mary Alice Wessinger, Doris Kleckly, and Rachel Wessinger; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Henry Thomas Sites; one sister, Frances Rickard; and two brothers, Mervin and Gary Wessinger.
A visitation will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at St. Jacob Lutheran Church, 832 Columbia Avenue, Chapin, SC 29036, with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM. Burial will take place after the service in the church cemetery.
