Born in Newberry County, Oneal was the oldest son of Dan and Floriede Lindler of Chapin, South Carolina. Known as Freddy to long-time friends, he was a lover of anything with an engine. Naturally gifted with carpentry and all things mechanical, there was seemingly nothing he couldn’t build, fix, rebuild or haul. He was a fixture of the Lowman Home’s maintenance team for decades and was always the go-to guy for countless family and friends alike.
Oneal was predeceased by his father, Dan Lindler and his wife, Wanda Springs. He is survived by his mother, Floriede Lindler; brother, Donnie Lindler (Beth); son, Danny Lindler (Wanda); his grandson, Kyle Lindler (Leslie and Faye) and his daughter, Stacy Budzichowski (Greg). Also surviving are his niece, Brooke White (Pete, Mason and Shea); his nephew, Josh Lindler (May, Asha and Vash) and many extended family members including his step-grandchildren, Alexis Bouknight, Cole Bouknight, Ella Felker, Joey Bodie (Cadie) and Jenna Bodie.
An outdoorsman to the core, Oneal’s final wish is for his ashes to be spread in the mountains along with the ashes of his beloved dogs, Topi and Tigee. His children will fulfill this wish and reunite his ashes with those of their mother at the highest peak on the east coast.
Private services will be held for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Heritage at Lowman.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.caughmanchapin.com for the Lindler, family.
