Betty Lester Comalander

A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church cemetery. Services will be livestreamed via the Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel's Facebook page.

Friends are invited to visit Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel, from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23 to pay their respects.

She was born in Newberry on February 15, 1936 to the late William Carl and Vera Dominick Lester. Mrs. Comalander was a member of Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church. She retired from General Electric/Mepco after 40+ years of service. She always enjoyed spending time with her husband, visiting with customers in the barbershop and gardening. Over the last few years, in addition to spending time with her family and friends, you could find her in the den watching some of her favorite country music shows, Andy Griffith or Steve Harvey.

She is survived by her son, Todd Comalander (Holly) of Chapin; grandson, Cole Douglas Comalander; granddaughter, Carly Paige Comalander; a brother, Emory (Brenda) Lester of Newberry; a sister-in-law, Dot Lester of Prosperity and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Doug Comalander and her brother, John Lester.

The family would like to thank their caregivers, Marie Brooks, Carmen Mincey and the Home Health team.
