Allene Cook Huffstetler

Born on April 28, 1937, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late Ira Frank and Eunice Buzhardt Cook. She was employed by Old School Manufacturing before the birth of her first child, and then became a full-time mother and housewife. Later, she was the bookkeeper for Huffstetler Brothers homebuilders. She was a member of St. Peter (Piney Woods) Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Primetimers and former member of the Adult Choir.

She is survived by her children, Julie (Dale) Shealy, Scott (Ronda) Huffstetler, and Jody (Liesha) Huffstetler; grandchildren, Will Huffstetler, Wesley Huffstetler, Jessica Shealy, Matthew Shealy, Jonathon Huffstetler, Colie Huffstetler, Jared Huffstetler, Alana R. Huffstetler, and Jana Huffstetler; a step-grandson, Rev. Christopher (Sarah) Shealy and a step-great-grandson, Myer Shealy.

She was predeceased by her husband, W. Rudolph “Rudy” Huffstetler; her sister, Carolyn Shealy; brothers, Wyman Cook, Robert Cook, and Richard Cook.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23 at St. Peter (Piney Woods) Lutheran Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
