William Houston Nelson

William Houston Nelson passed away at his home in Sun Lakes, AZ on February 27, 2019. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to many. He was born in Boaz, AL and spent most of his life in Chattanooga, TN retiring to Arizona in 2014. He was a veteran of WW2 and the Korean War and an employee of the Chattanooga, TN Dupont plant for 40 years. He was a long-time member of Woodland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Boaz, AL for over 50 years. He was always willing to help someone in need and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Myrtle Lee Nelson, Mac Nelson, his wonderful step-mother Ola Nelson, brothers John and Bobby and his sister Patricia. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Dorothy (Sneed) Nelson, his sons Greg (Pam); Christopher (Hollie); grandsons Mark (Lisa); Andrew (Sarah) and Houston; great grandchildren Audrey, Logan and James, and brother Julian (Thelma). Services will be held at Valley of the Sun Mortuary in Chandler, AZ on Tuesday, March 5 with visitation at 10:00 am and the service at 11:00 am.
