

Vivian Charlotte Urton 91, of Chandler, died peacefully at her home on April 15, 2015. Vivian was born in Jasper County, Indiana, on May 3, 1923 to Esther B. and Oren Glen Baker. She moved to Coolidge, Arizona in 1944 with her family and worked as a nurse at the Florence Clinic. After retiring in 1985, she moved to Sun Lakes, was a founding member of Sun Lakes United Methodist Church, and continued using her gift as a care giver by helping to establish their Stephen Ministry. She was a champion bowler, a world traveler, an avid dancer, and she dearly loved family gatherings. Vivian was known for her sharp wit, keen sense of humor, and bright outlook. Vivian is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, James R. Urton, and four siblings. She is survived by her brother Don Baker, her son Bill Urton, her son Mike and his wife Dawn, granddaughter Ashlee E. Krongaard and husband Jason, grandson Austin K. Urton, and many beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church Chapel, 9248 E. Riggs Road, Sun Lakes, on Friday, April 24, at 10:00 am. Donations may be made to the Central Arizona College Foundation in the name of the Vivian C. Urton Nursing Scholarship, 8470 N. Overfield Road, Coolidge, AZ, 85128, Attention: Foundation Office.
