Val Whitehead

Val was beloved by so many. But none more so than his family. Val began his life doing what he loved, farming and ended it the same way. Val’s dedication to his field and family were an inspiration to everyone that met him. Val believed in a firm handshake and a help up to anyone that needed it.

Val came into the world on January 30, 1961 in Pocatello Idaho to his loving parents Laval and Carole Whitehead. He spent most of his life in Blackfoot, Idaho farming with his beloved grandfather, dad, and brother. He graduated high school in 1979 driving his beautiful black jacked up bronco and attended college at Idaho State University. He studied electrical engineering, But only to support his lifelong love and career of farming. In 1984 he married Renee Brown of Pocatello, Idaho and took on the arduous task of becoming a father of two little girls, Angela and Barbie. In 1987 Val and Renee welcomed a third daughter Crystal.

In 1998 Val started a new adventure growing potatoes in a little town called Maricopa, Arizona for Frito-Lay. Over the course of the next several years Val got into the trucking business and continued to farm up until the sudden end of his life on January 23rd 2022.

Val Whitehead was survived by his adoring wife Renee Whitehead (63) of Chandler Arizona, His daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren; Angela (43), Jason (49), Blake (26) and Jaxson Howell (15) of Maricopa Arizona. His daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren; Barbara (39), Grier (46), Valerie Jones (17), Tegan (17) and Ryder (14) Derscheid of Casa Grande, Arizona. His daughter and grandchildren Crystal Whitehead (34), Ezra Powers (10) and Ryan Powers (9) of Chandler Arizona.

Val Whitehead is survived by his parents Laval and Carole Whitehead of Blackfoot Idaho. His brother Scott Whitehead (58) and his three children.

Services are being held at the Valley of the Sun Mortuary in Chandler Arizona on January 31, 2022.
