Terry Major was born in Plainfield, NJ. Terry and Tom Major moved to Sun Lakes from Annapolis, Maryland in 1990. Although they moved to Florida, Sun City West, and Lancaster, PA for family reasons, they always returned to Sun Lakes.
As a registered nurse, she did geriatric nursing for eleven years, pursued a Master’s degree in psychology and completed post graduate studies in group psychotherapy. Following she worked in a counseling program for clergy and religious, a therapist in a comprehensive mental health center, and in private practice.
Upon moving to Sun Lakes she and her husband Tom immediately became members of St. Stephen’s parish. Tom was an usher and Terry was in the choir. She was involved in parish life starting with becoming President of the Ladies’ Guild, serving on the social committee and building committees of both the social hall and expansion of the church. Terry chaired the Liturgy Committee and served as Parish Council President for two terms. For the past six years she has been a quiet, prayerful member.
Terry leaves behind a loving family of nieces and nephews. She joins her devoted husband Tom, her parents, her sisters, and deceased members of the family in the Lord’s home.
“When the time of our particular sunset comes, our accomplishments, "our thing" won't really matter. But the clarity and care with which we have loved others will speak with the vitality of the great gift of life we have been for each other.”
T. Major
Terry loved and was loved by all.
