Samuel Lee Yates

Samuel Lee Yates, 86, died peacefully in his sleep on the 30th of June, 2017 in the company of his loved wife of 67 years, MaryAnn. Sam Yates was born on February 1st 1931 on a farm near Carrier Mills Illinois. He worked his way through High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois, and upon graduation, he joined the Air Force, where he served for 25 years. During that time he went to war for his country first in Korea and later in Vietnam. After serving his country, he devoted his professional career to helping those afflicted with addiction. Sam was passionate about the outdoors and loved hunting, fishing and camping.

Sam’s family includes seven children, 18 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.

His wisdom, wit, and perspective, and his love of family and country, will be a gift to us all for many generations.
