Ronald Ralph Radmer - age 79, of Gilbert, AZ, passed away the morning of 1/8/12 after a brief illness. Born 10/11/1932 in Detroit, MI to Albert and Abigail Radmer, Ron worked as a master wood model maker and retired from General Motors after 32 years at the GM Tech Center in Warren, MI. He and his wife Norma started a new venture and owned a couple Tubby's sub shops, The Crash Landing and The Shipping Channel restaurants before finally retiring for good and moving to Chandler, AZ in 1986. Ron was very athletic playing baseball, softball, bowling and his all-time favorite, the game of golf. He found a 2nd family in "The Wild Bunch" at Arizona Golf Resort - he spent many hours with his friends there and enjoyed talking to them regularly after he could no longer play. He also loved to play cards and his monthly "TIC" game nite was something he always looked forward to.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Norma and his brother, Bill. He is survived by children Roseann (Mike),, Philip (Rita), Patti, Michael (Diane), Pam (Dale) and Laura (Tom); 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, sister Shirley Swanson, numerous other family members and Granddog Jake.
Family and friends may visit from 10AM - 12Noon and attend 12 Noon Funeral Services on Friday, January 13, 2012 BOTH at Valley of the Sun Mortuary in Chandler. Donations can be made to Stand Up 2 Cancer or Best Friends Animal Society.
