Robert was born to Robert McLaren, an ice truck driver, and Edna (Dahl) McLaren, a housewife, in 1935 in West Hollywood, California. Young Robert was a Cub Scout and always obeyed the Law of the Pack, except when he would use cargo trains as target practice for his .22 long rifle, then run from the angry foreman.
In November 1952, Robert left Bell Gardens, California, to proudly serve in the U.S. Air Force. He was an Aircraft Mechanic assigned to the 93d Field Maintenance Squadron. After his training in Texas and Illinois, he deployed to Libya, years before it became the shining beacon of democracy it is today.
Robert left the service in November 1956, returning to Los Angeles to marry Nadine Adele McLaren six months later and to start a family. This, above all else, gave him fulfillment and happiness. Fox News a close second.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Nadine, and his son Ronald Wayne McLaren, Robert is survived by his daughter Victoria, his grandchildren Thomas, Travis, and Brittny, and his great-grandchildren Travis Jr., Stella Ana, and Kameron Joseph. And let’s not forget his rambunctious schnauzer, Charlie.
Family, friends, and fans of Fox News are invited to attend a service on Tuesday, March 5, at 2:00 p.m. (1:00 p.m. visitation) at the Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery: 10940 E. Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler AZ, 85248.
In lieu of flowers you may donate to the Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue (dlrraz.org).
