Raul Portillo

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our loving son, brother, and friend, Raul "Raulito" Portillo. Raul was called by our Lord on June 1, 2023. He is the son of Irma Davila (John) and Raul Portillo (Martha). Raul leaves behind his sisters, Suzy Soto (Gus), Sandy Sanchez, brother, Mark Campos, and nieces, Suzanna Sanchez, Isabella Soto, and Paulina Soto. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whom he loved dearly. Those who knew Raul knew he had a big heart, had a great sense of humor, and was beyond intelligent. He had a gentle and deep soul that always knew how to make you feel heard. His kindness allowed him to connect with others in a way that most people cannot. Raul was an athlete, an avid bike rider, loved working on puzzles with his mom, and dedicated countless hours researching and expanding his knowledge, especially in the area of technology. All animals seemed to love Raul and he loved them back.

Raul had an unwavering love for his family. He shared a deep bond with his parents, who were a constant source of support, guidance, and encouragement. Their love for him knew no bounds, and their memories together will forever be cherished.

Raul was a devout Catholic and had great faith in our Lord. One of Raul's favorite Bible quotes was: 3 John 1:11 "Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God."

Raul was loved by many and will forever be remembered.

A visitation for Raul will be held Sunday, June 11, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery, 10940 East Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248. A rosary service will occur Sunday, June 11, 2023 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 10940 East Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248. A funeral service will occur Monday, June 12, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St .Juan Diego Catholic Church, 3200 S Cooper Rd, Chandler, AZ 85286.
