She was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 30, 1934. After graduating from Pershing High School in Detroit, she worked as a secretary in downtown Detroit in the prestigious Fisher Building, taking the streetcar to work every day. Louise was an expert at taking dictation in shorthand. During her lunch hour, she loved to go shopping for the latest fashions at Saks Fifth Avenue and Hudson’s Department Stores.
In 1954, Louise met Ronald Wein at a Bethesda Missionary Temple church outing and they were married in May 1956. They shared a wonderful family life together, having two daughters, Julianne and Lisa. Louise was an exceptional homemaker and stay at home mother, serving as the room mom for both her girls in grade school. She was a Troop leader for both Julie’s and Lisa’s Girl Scout Troops for many years. She was an excellent cook and had a hot meal on the table every evening for her family. Louise loved children and spent over 20 years as an elementary Sunday School teacher at Bethesda.
In 1977, the family moved to Tempe, Arizona where Ron and Louise pastored Covenant Life Church. They served others well and were instrumental in bringing many lives to the knowledge of the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
After Ron’s passing, Louise navigated life for the next 17 years without her beloved soulmate. Her family has been the center of her world, being an incredible Mimi to her 5 grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Julianne Hittenberger and son-in-law Bob, daughter Lisa Lau and son-in-law Erich; and grandchildren Chad and Heather Hittenberger and Erica, Tara and Cameron Lau.
Louise was dearly loved and will be greatly missed!
