Our beautiful, loving mom, Lloydeen Michele Hansen, passed away January 5, 2015 after a short, courageous battle with cancer. Always an optimist, she stayed her positive, happy, loving self until the very end. She will be missed dearly. She was born May, 12, 1942, to Willa Pfeifer Larson and Lloyd Larson in Spokane, WA- a bouncing baby girl who was supposed to be a boy, hence her namesake being that of her dear father. After finishing high school at Immaculate Conception Catholic High School, she married Kent M. Hansen, had 4 children, and as a young couple they moved to Reno NV, in 1972. She lived the rest of her life enjoying the sunny skies, beautiful mountains, the Truckee River and all the other great things the area offers. She loved Reno and thought of it as her home. In the early years, she was a stay-at-home mom who loved every minute of what it took to take care of 4 young children. She doted on them and made everything special, sharing in sports, friends, and activities. Holidays and birthdays were particularly special to her, and she made every occasion unforgettable. She was loved by all, and great with people as was shown in her work at a non-profit serving the disabled- a job she held for 24 years after deciding to return to work. She was preceded in death by her husband Kent, and daughter Suzi. She is survived by daughters Lori Desiderio (John), Tracy Hansen, and son Craig Hansen. She also has three grandchildren, Jake, Trevor, and Sophie.
