survived by her husband, Donald Buettner Sr, her two sons, Donald Buettner Jr (Patricia), and Timothy
Buettner (Shannon), her grandson, Wyatt Buettner, her brother Ed Danner, two sisters, Kathy Carnahan
and Susan Armstrong and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Inger Danner of Chariton, Iowa.
She was born Karen Yvonne Danner, on August 1st, 1940, at Yocom Hospital in Chariton, Iowa, and was
the oldest of her three siblings. She grew up in Chariton, Iowa and graduated from Chariton High School
in 1958. Karen loved Basketball, corresponding, and socializing with friends and family, taking care of
her sons, Donnie and Tim, and spending time with her grandson Wyatt. Karen often volunteered at her
son’s schools as they were growing up so she could be close to her children. Karen was an exceptional
older sister to her siblings, Ed, Kathy, and Susan. She guided them, watched over them, protected them
from bullies and nurtured their dreams growing up. She was an outgoing person who loved people. She
had numerous friends many of which she stayed connected with since childhood. She was a very loving,
warm, and generous soul who will be missed dearly.
