Joyce Virginia Dowers

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joyce Virginia Dowers, who departed this life on July 13, 2024, at the remarkable age of 102. Joyce was born in Hazel, South Dakota, and over a century of life, she touched countless hearts with her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering spirit.

Joyce was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and loyal friend. She lived a life rich in love and compassion, always placing family at the center of her world. Her home was a sanctuary of kindness and hospitality, where she generously shared her love and stories with those fortunate to know her.

Joyce was predeceased by her loving husband, James Harvey Dowers, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. Together, they built a legacy of love that continues to inspire their descendants. She is survived by her children; Denton Dowers (Collene Dowers) and Sharon Bosch (predeceased by Lorin Bosch); her grandchildren, Kimberly Gagliardi Webster (James Webster), Lorna Eary (James Eary), Sena Straub (Scott Straub), David Dowers (Roxanne Dowers); and great-grandchildren Toni Gagliardi, Paige Gagliardi, Jackson Webster, Justin Eary (Bethany Eary), Zachary Short (Rheanna Short) and (predeceased by Austin Belford), 4 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.

Throughout her life, Joyce was known for her remarkable resilience and enduring positivity. She navigated life's challenges with grace and an unyielding spirit, becoming a beacon of strength for her family and community. Her legacy is one of love, faith, and perseverance.

A celebration of Joyce's life will be held on July 27, 2024 at 11:00am at Valley of the Sun Mortuary located at 10940 E. Chandler Heights Rd., Chandler, AZ 85248. Friends and family are invited to attend and honor her memory. Please join our family for Lunch and a Celebration of Life to follow from 12:30 pm-2:30 pm.

Joyce Virginia Dowers will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
