Jose Ernesto Jimenez

Jose Ernesto Jimenez, age 92, passed away on July 18, 2024. Jose, affectionately known as “Joe” was born on July 19, 1931 in Konx Farm Chandler, Arizona to the late Jose Magdaleno and Antonia Valenzuela Jimenez.

Staring from humble roots, Joe worked as a shoe shine boy in his early years before establishing a lifelong career in the food retail business, where he made lasting contributions as a warehouse worker. Known for his strong work ethic and reliability, Joe was respected by colleagues and customers alike.

Outside of work, Joe's faith was a cornerstone of his life. A devout Catholic, he actively participated in various church groups such as the Guadalupanas and served as a Eucharistic minister. His commitment to his faith was evident in all aspects of his life. In addition to his professional and religious endeavors, Joe had a deep passion for automobiles.

Joe will be fondly remembered for his kindness, humility, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, faith and love for family.

Joe is survived by his wife, Asuncion Cardenas Jimenez; the two were married in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Chandler. He is also survived by his children, Jose Luis, Alberto, Roberto, and Rudy; grandchildren, Stephanie, Lyonel, Jessica, Jennifer, Albert James, Alec, Robert, Steven, Joshua, Justin, Zachary, and Roger; his great-grandchildren, Julia, Ashley, Kylor, Serenity, Amilia, Olivia, Andrea, and Preston; daughters-in-law, Evangelina, JoAnn and Tammie; and his 14 nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend an evening visitation with Rosary to be held at Valley of the Sun Mortuary, 10940 E Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248 on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 5 - 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 230 W Galveston St, Chandler, AZ 85225, on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow in Valley of the Sun Cemetery.
