John A McNamara

John, 54, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on March 17, 2015. He was born September 23, 1960 in Burne, Ma at Otis Air Force Base. John graduated from Mesa High School and Mesa Community College. He later earned a degree in Computer Programming.

He was an exceptional young athlete whose collegiate career ended with a seris of game injuries. He worked as a Corrections Officer, Construction, helicopeter maintence safety inspector and plant operation managment. He proudly served in the Alaska Army National Guard. He had a love for sports, hunting and his beloved Chicago Bears. He loved spending time with family and friends. John is survived by his lovely daughters Kadie and Brigitte of Phoenix, AZ, his adored parents George and Larine McNamara of Gilbert, AZ, his brother David McNamara and partner DeNice Jensen and children Dalton McNamara, Briana Jensen and Austin Jensen, Mesa, AZ. Sister Debra White and brother-in-law James White of Bulverde, TX, son James Vavra and wife Melissa and children Stormy and Ayden of Ford, WA. Rest in peace John, you are loved and missed. Our hearts ache with our loss.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Valley of the Sun Funeral Home, 10940 E. Chandler Heights Rd., Chandler, AZ 85248. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Hospice of the Valley Lund Family Hospice Home at 1982 E. Woodside Ct., Gilbert, AZ 85297.
