It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our cherished and beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Jeanette Flora Vanney, age 69, of Sun Lakes, Arizona. She passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Gilbert Mercy Hospital with her husband of 53 years, William (Bill) Vanney, by her side. Born in El Dorado, Kansas, Jeanette graduated from Western State Colorado University in 1967, where she met and married the love of her life. She adored children and taught kindergarten for 40 years. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends. Everyone who knew Jeanette, never forgot her. She beamed from ear to ear with pride when speaking of one of her kids or grandkids, or when supporting them with various sporting events. She was also a devoted and active member of her church.
She is survived by her husband, William F. Vanney, of Sun Lakes, Arizona; three children, Jim (Donna) Vanney of Florence, AZ, Kristi (Tony) Brown of Noblesville, IN, and Greg (Amy) Vanney of Toronto, Canada; twelve grandchildren; three brothers Keith (Ellen) Christy of Waxahachie, TX, Han (JungHi) Christy of Glendale, AZ, and Haedo (JungJa) Chun of Chicago, IL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Wayne Christy, mother, Edith Elizabeth Christy, and sister, Judith H. Reynolds.
