Jim,
You were my friend for over 45 years. We shared many a good time in college and the days that followed, however, our greatest times came in the last few years when we would talk about marriage, our families and our Savior. We laughed, we cried, we prayed and we surrendered our lives to Jesus Christ. I will miss our talks, your dumb jokes, our pranks on each other, and the  reminiscing of our life together. But most of all, I will miss the "I love you, Bob" at the end of all  our conversations. We never heard men say that while we grew up. Then we would say," talk to ya soon."
When a man lives with honor and integrity, very few take note, and fewer still acknowledge it. However, when that man is your dear friend, his life is a gift to you, specifically made and fitted for you. Only God knows my pain, however Jim, you DID make a difference.
