The son of Myrl and Elsie Bell. He was born on July 30,1943 in Severn, Maryland. He earned his GED and two years of college while in the Army.
In 1962, Harry enlisted in the US Army. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of E6. As part of this service, he was awarded The National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, Aircraft Crewman Badge, and several more. He served a total of six years overseas in Germany. He moved to Arizona after retiring from the military in 1985. His favorite memories of being in the military are when he was a Drill Sergeant.
Harry met his wife, Martha, on a blind date and it was love at first sight. He asked Martha to marry him on the first night. Harry and Martha married on January 2, 1965. They had five children, three boys and two girls. They grieved the loss of their one son and two daughters when they were first born. Harry enjoyed traveling in the military with his family. He enjoyed classic cars, the TV series MASH, classic movies, and encouraged young people to join the military whenever he had the chance.
Harry is survived by his wife, Martha and two sons, Randall and Wes with their wives. In addition to nine grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.
