Gary moved to Chandler, Arizona at 3 years old and later graduated from Chandler High School. He married Gracie Gawthorp on March 20, 1982 in Mesa, Arizona. Gary had a career in multiple skilled professions working for Davis Roofing, Farnsworth Wholesale, and owned his own landscaping business. He had a great passion for bullriding since he was 15 and was a member of the GCPRA and SPRA rodeo clubs.
Gary is survived by his wife, Gracie Gawthorp; his sons, Brandon Gawthorp, Chad Gawthorp and husband Eloy Pliego; grandchildren, Nevaeh, Dylan, and Ayva; sister, Teresa Remboa and brother, Kevin "Hank" Gawthorp; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with Gary's celebration of life to begin at 12:00 PM; followed immediately afterwards by a reception and gathering: all services at Valley of the Sun Mortuary, 10940 East Chandler Heights Road, Chandler, Arizona 85248.
