David Anthony Tran was a devoted husband, loving dad, and caring friend. He was also a considerate son, dependable brother, and thoughtful uncle. As a reflection of all of his positive traits, he was the chosen godfather for many nieces and nephews. He was well-loved by everyone who knew him and has left a positive impression on the many lives he has touched.
David's parents are Anthony Hung Tran and Tuyet-Nhung Le. He was born in Saigon, Vietnam and grew up in Schererville, Indiana. He graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. After college, he moved to Chandler, Arizona, which has been his home for the last 23 years. During his time in Arizona, he received a Master's degree in Computer Engineering at Arizona State University, met and married the love of his life, Valerie, and became the proud father to his son Eric and daughter Kaitlyn.
David had a generous heart and was always willing to help others. He often lit up a room with his sense of humor. He was optimistic in his outlook on life and was open and direct in his communication. David was an individual who enjoyed life for all of its aspects. He possessed a positive can-do attitude with anything that comes his way. Even throughout his battle with cancer, he had the perseverance and strong-will to endure all of the treatments for the sake of his family. He always put others ahead of himself. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Valerie; his children Eric and Kaitlyn; his parents Anthony Hung and Tuyet-Nhung; his brothers Joseph (Natalie) and Peter (Denise); his sister Mary (Steve). Services will be held at St. Andrew's Church. David will be laid to rest at Valley of the Sun Cemetery in Chandler, Arizona.
