Daniel (Dan) Wade Collinsworth, 64, went to be with his younger sister Karen, his parents, and many others he loved, into glory on June 13th, 2022. He was born November 15, 1957, in Mesa, AZ to Jesse and Norma Collinsworth. He was born again on May 4th, 1980, which was a very big aspect of his life. He loved sharing the Lord with whoever would listen and knew where he was going when he left this world.
Dan married Lisa at a young age, adopted her son Jason, and went on to have 3 other children, Hannah, David, and Daniel. He later married Donna, and gained 3 daughters, Kristi, Tiffany, and Lindsey. Together, he was blessed with nineteen grandchildren whom he loved deeply.
Dan the Man, as he was affectionately called, was competitive in everything he did: baseball, basketball, football, volleyball, racing, RC racing, and board games. Although he loved winning, he was always a good sport and had a great time with everyone, encouraging them in their winning. Dan was well loved in the racing community where he spent much time from childhood on. He owned Dan’s Racing Supply for many years and raced car number 25 at Manzanita Speedway and many other dirt tracks. Dan enjoyed building DRS Sport Mods for other drivers and then cheering them on at the tracks. When he decided to quit the track racing, Dan turned to RC (remote control) racing. He loved it and the friends he made there. He turned a lot of family and friends onto the fun also.
Besides owning Dan’s Racing Supply, Dan spent most of his adulthood painting homes, selling cars, and lastly, selling windows and doors. Whatever job he worked at, he gave it his all and had fun while making lots of friends along the way.
The most common sentiment told to us about Dan, is that he cared and listened to you, made you feel you were important and worth his time. He was always ready to help anyone that needed it with a joyful attitude. His smile was infectious, and that twinkle in his eyes warmed your heart. Dan was a kind, gentle, compassionate soul that anybody could talk to. He will be sorely missed!
Dan is survived by his wife, Donna, sons Jason, David (Laura), and Daniel, daughter Hannah (Adam) Chapman, stepdaughters, Kristi (David) Manzer, Tiffany (Josh) Hulsebosch, and Lindsey (Izzy) Amaro, nineteen grandchildren, brothers Jim (Sue) and Ron (Paula), sisters Nancy (Ted) Diepstraten and Gloria (Bill) Mason, Uncle Henry Warren, many cousins, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nephews. He is preceded in death by sister Karen, and his parents Jesse and Norma Collinsworth.
Our family has been overwhelmed with an outpouring of love following Dan’s unexpected death. Many of you have asked how you can help our family during this difficult time. One way you can help is to continue to pray for peace for Donna and the family. In addition, if you wish to make a monetary contribution in lieu of flowers, please Zelle Donna at Donna.collinsworth@yahoo.com. Thank you.
