Chandler, Arizona Funeral services for Crisoforo Mario Castro, 75, will be held at 2 p.m.– 4 p.m. beginning with visitation followed by mass on Sunday, August 2, 2020, at the Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery. Mario was born on November 27, 1944, in Zacoalco de Torres, Jalisco, Mexico. He passed away on July 29, 2020, and was surrounded by his beloved family by his side.
Mario met the love of his life Rosa and later married at the Sacred Heart Church in San Jose, California. They recently celebrated their fiftieth (50th) wedding anniversary on April 25, 2020. Mario was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and brother in law. Mario’s favorite pastime was spending time with his family, grandchildren, and four fur babies who he held close to his heart. He loved to dance to salsa, cumbia, mariachi music, taking his family on numerous road trips.
He will always be remembered and treasured for being there for his wife, children and grandchildren. Most of all, he was a great provider and would find a way to meet the needs of his wife and children. As a husband and father, he made many sacrifices for his family to ensure they had the best. He was so proud of his children’s and grand-children’s accomplishments.
Mario worked and retired from the Ford Motor Company after thirty-one (31) years of service and was a proud member of the UAW - Local 249. He was a devout Raider’s fan. His favorite hobbies included gardening, walking, cooking various food dishes such as menudo and occasionally indulging in dessert(s), and his interest in American-made cars especially Ford. He was known for being a jokester and exhibited a strong sense of humor filled with laughter.
Mario is survived by his devoted wife, Rosa Castro, of Chandler, Arizona; his son, Ricardo Castro and wife, Wendy Castro, and sons, Izaiah (grandson) and Liam (grandson) of Kansas City, Missouri; two (2) daughters including Lorena Castro-Diaz and Luis Diaz (husband), Daniel Diaz (grandson) and Isabella (granddaughter) Diaz of Chandler, Arizona; and Marissa Castro of Chandler, Arizona, and four fur babies including Wilbur, Happy, Mika, and Airi; brother Gabriel Castro, and sister Esther Castro of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
Mario was preceded in death by his parents Crisoforo and Josefa Castro, and seven siblings.
