In Zion the Lord has chosen to dwell,
A city He built with great care,
With stones that are living, so carefully chosen,
His habitation, a people so rare.
One by one He chooses each of His stones,
And lifts them out of the pit,
Then chisels and shapes and polishes each,
A labor of love, perfecting the fit.
What a glorious city our Zion,
With the throne of our God and the Lamb,
In its midst with a river of crystal,
Flowing forth from the throne of our King.
Our portion to serve and to praise Him,
As we delight to look on His face,
Bearing His name on our foreheads,
Rejoicing in His marvelous grace!
