Anna Maria Baker

Anna Maria Piva Baker beloved mother, sister, wife, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born in Vicenza, Italy to Elia and Teresa (Torelli) Piva. She was the third of seven children; Luciana, Sergio, Renato (deceased), Marilena, Linda and Flaviano.

Anna spent her childhood in Vicenza, Italy and at the age of 19 moved to the United States with her husband Vincent Garrisi (deceased), where she learned to speak English on her own by reading comic books and watching western movies.

In her early 30’s her and her husband Vincent, moved from California to Montana to raise their 4 children. She later pursued a degree in Floral Design and Upholstery from Flathead Valley Community College. For several years Anna worked in the quantometer lab at Anaconda Aluminum Company (ARCO). After leaving the aluminum company she owned and operated The Looking Glass clothing store in Whitefish, Montana. In 1990 she moved to Arizona where she met and married Phillip Baker (deceased).

Anna retired as a Purchaser and Sales Associate for Dillard’s Department store, and following her short lived retirement, purchased a Mailbox Etc. business with her husband Phillip. After selling her successful business, she continued her passion for art and design by making custom jewelry, clothing and paintings, selling them at local art shows.

She joins her parents, brother, husbands and son Joseph Garrisi in the Lord’s care. She is survived by her 3 daughters Dolores Campanella (her husband Steve), Theresa Clemmons (her husband Jeff) and Gabriella Nevarez (her husband Tom), 2 grandchildren; Chantel (her husband John) and Rachelle (her husband Casey) and 5 great grandchildren; Johnny, Kobe, Braelynn, Jocelyn and Braxton.

Anna will be memorialized at Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery in Chandler, Arizona. She will always be loved and missed by everyone she has touched through her art and enduring love of family.

You are now at peace in the Lords hands Mom, we love you.

Please join us in celebrating the lives of Phillip and Anna Baker as we honor them at a special ceremony to place their ashes in their final resting place.

We will gather graveside at Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery, 10940 E. Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at 10 am to 11 am.

At the ceremony, you will have an opportunity, if you’d like, to share your fondest memories of Phillip and Anna. We will also take a moment to present special military honors for Phillip's Naval service.

Afterwards we will be gathering at the home of Jeff and Theresa Clemmons, 5876 S Robins Way, Chandler, commencing at 11:30 am. We will be serving light refreshments (Italian Style in honor of Anna).
