Sidney John Theriot Sr.

Sidney John Theriot Sr. passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the age of 86. He was the cherished husband of the late Gayle S. Theriot. Loving father of Darlene Leitz (Wayne), Karen Mangaracina, Sidney Theriot Jr. (JoeAnna) and Danny Theriot (Stephanie). Son of the late Sidney F. Theriot and Ellen McNally Theriot. Brother of Sylvester “Sal” Theriot and the late Marvin J. Theriot Sr. Proud grandfather of Tia Mangaracina, Jennifer Leitz Schiro (Mark), Tonya Mangaracina, Wayne Leitz Jr., Katie Theriot, Gus Theriot, Josh Theriot, Noah Theriot, Jack Theriot and Jake Theriot. Great grandfather of Jared Burghout and Louis Mangaracina. Sidney was born in New Orleans, LA and was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish until Hurricane Katrina when he moved to Prairieville, LA. Sidney was an electrician and retired from Frischhertz Electric after many years of service. He was a member of the IBEW Local 130 for 61 years. Sidney enjoyed playing golf, going to the casino and always being the life of the party. He will be fondly remembered by relatives, extended family and friends. Sidney will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 PM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
