

Sally Hernandez Jolet passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Frank G. Jolet. Loving mother of Frank G. Jolet Jr. (Heather), Jeanne J. Abadie (Merlin), Bernard S. Jolet (Rosa), Lisa Jolet and the late Baby Jolet. Daughter of the late Bernardo Hernandez and Rosa Guzman Hernandez. Sister of the late Bernardo Hernandez, Raphael Hernandez, Helaido Hernandez, Francisco Hernandez, Adele Abene and Cecilia Hernandez. Proud grandmother of Brandon M. Abadie, Ryan C. Abadie, Abygail C. Jolet, Sofia B. Jolet and Cecilia A. Jolet. Also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Sally was born on February 15, 1934 in New Orleans, LA. She was a resident of Arabi. LA until Hurricane Katrina and a current resident of Marrero, LA. Sally was an employee for the Archdiocese of New Orleans and retired after 30 years of dedicated service. In 2012 she was nominated by Archbishop Gregory Aymond to receive The Order of St. Louis IX Medallion. Sally enjoyed spending time with her coworkers, neighborhood friends and especially her grandchildren. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will begin at 1:00 PM. Inurnment will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
