Robert “Bob” Hamilton passed away at his home on November 8, 2014 at the age of 78. Preceded in death by parents Otis Hamilton, Mary Lou Hudson and brother Edward Tanksley. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Judy Maser Hamilton and their children Ricky (Stacey), Michael (Brenda), David (Lisa), and Mark (Dawn) Hamilton. Grandfather to Chrissy Hamilton Burkhardt (Jason), Lacie Hamilton (Sarah), Brittany Hamilton, Paige Hamilton Costella (Casey), Danielle Hamilton Smith (Cody), Tiffani Hamilton, and Troy Hamilton. Bob was a self made entrepreneur, hardworking, generous and caring man who wore many hats during his lifetime; from auto mechanic to racing cars to motor-cycle repair to service station owner to retired business owner. He was a very giving person. He volunteered with the Red Cross driving the emergency response vehicle to areas hit hard by disasters. He served hot meals to those in need until his health declined. After his brother was killed in the Korean War, he joined the Military and proudly served his country in the Army. He was the best father to his family and always put family first. He made sure his wife and 4 boys had everything they needed and more. Mostly, he will be remembered for his compassionate and loving heart. He took pride in knowing that his passion for life and desire to succeed would be carried on through his children and grandchildren. Whether it was a road trip, a family dinner or being our guardian angel urging us to evacuate as a family from Hurricane Katrina, he experienced life to the fullest and inspired us to live and love with all that we have to give.
