Rickey A. Barbaro, a beloved son of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away at the age of 54. Born and raised in the vibrant heart of the city, he was a true embodiment of its spirit and soul. He was the loving son of Patricia Lyons Barbaro and the late Richard Joseph Barbaro. Caring brother to Angela Barbaro Kinler, Bridget Barbaro Sevin and Jason Matthew Barbaro; nephew to Eugene and Karen Barbaro; uncle to many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Rickey's life was adorned with a deep love for music, which echoed through the streets of his beloved hometown. He found solace and joy in the melodies that filled the air, and his passion for music was a source of inspiration for all who knew him. Among his many joys, Rickey cherished the companionship of his friends. Their laughter and camaraderie brought light to his days, forging bonds that stood the test of time. In the bustling French Quarters, he found his calling as a roofer, where he worked tirelessly under the scorching sun, contributing to the architectural beauty of the city he adored. Yet, above all else, Rickey's greatest passion lay in helping those in need. His compassionate heart led him to dedicate countless hours to caring for the homeless, offering them not only food and shelter but also the warmth of human connection and understanding. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
