Mary Catherine McCarthy

Mary “Kathy” McCarthy passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the age of 60. She was the cherished fiancé of Rodrick Guerra II. Loving mother of Samantha McCarthy, Brittany McCarthy and Erica McCarthy. Daughter of Adrienne Chauffe McCarthy and the late Edward “Pooch” McCarthy Sr. Sister of Emmajean McCarthy and Edward McCarthy Jr. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, along with many relatives, cousins and dear friends.

Mary was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. She was a graduate of Grace King High School. She truly enjoyed life through her simple pleasures of singing & dancing, gardening and growing her amazing flowers and vegetables. She found pleasure in the details of everyday life and caring deeply for others. She will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend of many, who cherished her friends and treasured her family. She will be deeply missed by us all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR CHURCH, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, August 5th from 10:00AM – 11:00AM, followed by a Memorial Mass beginning at 11:00AM.
