Martin "Ronnie" Ronald Fernandez Jr.

Martin R. “Ronnie” Fernandez Jr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 16, 2022, at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. He was surrounded by loved ones and passed away after a lengthy illness at the age of 61 years old. He was born on April 13, 1961, in New Orleans, LA and was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. He was a proud alumnus of Holy Cross High School Class of ’79. He was a man of many talents and known for his entrepreneurial spirit.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his father Martin Fernandez Sr. He is survived by his loving mother Linda L. Fernandez; daughters Mary Kate Fernandez and Whitney Asevado (Boyd); step-children Tiffany Cochran, Michael Landry, and Michelle Hoshman (Artie); grandchildren Grant, Owen, and Anna; brother of Richard Fernandez, Daniel Fernandez (Shannon), and Mary Fernandez; beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Ronnie was a friend to all and a stranger to none. He had a larger than life personality and never hesitated to share a story or tell a joke. He enjoyed playing golf, smoking cigars, and being surrounded by his family and friends. He was a man of God who officiated many weddings, often encouraging others to follow a Christian life.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 25th, 2022, at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home in Chalmette, LA from 10:00 A.M. until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in St. Bernard, LA.
