Martin "Chico" Gallardo

Martin "Chico" Gallardo passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021. He was 91 years old. He was the devoted husband of the late Jean K. Gallardo; loving father of Martin J. Gallardo, Tracy J. Gallardo (Pamela), and the late Barry Gallardo; proud grandfather of Aimee Gallardo, Tracy Gallardo, Jr., Jessica Gallardo, and Jena Gallardo; and great-grandfather of Damien Gallardo, Carson Simon, and Mya Simon. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Laura A. Gallardo and Joseph Gallardo; and by his siblings, the late Juanita McDaniel, Josephine Arevalo, Barbara Krupp, Helen Schmider, Catherine Kelly, and Joseph W. Gallardo, Sr.

Chico was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, and the St. Bernard Council on Aging. He was a wonderful man, father, grandfather, and friend, and he will be dearly missed by all those he leaves behind.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. A funeral mass will begin in Chico's memory at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
