It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lyn Theresa (Blappert) Adams, age 79, a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother “Mawmaw”. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 13, 2025 in Pearl River, Louisiana surrounded by her family. Lyn is survived by her loving husband, Michael P. Adams; her children Tiffany A. Springer (Valentine R. Springer IV) and Michael P. Adams Jr. (Andri Mitchell); her grandchildren Valentine R. Springer V, Blaken A. Springer, and Amber L. Adams;
her siblings Christopher C. Blappert Jr. (Carol) and Keith Blappert (Lorrie). A special thanks to her loving cousin Sharlene J. Macera for being by her side during her final days. She will also be missed by her beloved dog Baby. She is proceeded in death by her parents Marilyn Merritt and Christopher Charles Blappert Sr., and her siblings Errol Blappert (Robbie) and Darrell Blappert (Shirley).
Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, and primarily a lifelong resident of St. Bernard parish, she was a true Chalmation at heart. She attended St. Maurice Catholic School along with her lifelong best friend Wanda Boe in the ninth ward, where she resided as a child. She attended Chalmette High along with her high school sweetheart Mike “Tiger”. As a homemaker, she dedicated herself to her children, where she loved coaching her daughter’s cabbage ball team and cheering for her son’s home football team at Vista Park. Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren. She loved taking them for the weekend to her camp on Lake Cathrine, where she enjoyed riding her jet ski, fishing, crabbing, and listening to her oldies on the radio. Mardi Gras was always a special time in her life, and she made an effort to go to every parade. When it came to celebrating, you could find her on the dance floor along with her beloved husband or enjoying line dancing with friends. She also loved going to the casinos along the Gulf Coast. Although she didn’t understand football, she did enjoy watching the Saints games, rubbing her medallion, and praying for a win. She was a woman who enjoyed dressing up, especially with her jewelry, which added to her radiant personality and love for life. Lyn never met a stranger; she loved talking to everyone. Above all she will be missed by her family and all of her wonderful friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM. A funeral will begin at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
